Overview

The Center of Excellence for Capacity Building, Training, and Design of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles is a collaborative initiative between the Government of Uttar Pradesh and IIT Kanpur. It serves as an interdisciplinary hub for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and drone technology, bringing together various stakeholders including users, developers, researchers, manufacturers, and service providers from across the state.

The Drone CoE is closely associated with the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur, which is running an acceleration program for drone startups. This program aims to support and nurture innovative drone companies by providing them access to world-class facilities, mentorship, and technical expertise.

To become a leading hub for drone technology innovation and development in India, driving advancements in various sectors such as defense, agriculture, healthcare, and urban air mobility. The CoE aims to create an environment where cutting-edge UAV technologies can be conceptualized, developed, and brought to market, ultimately contributing to India's technological self-reliance and economic growth in the drone sector.

Mission

Our mission is to foster collaboration in capacity building, training, and UAV/Drone technology design. We provide a comprehensive ecosystem for drone startups to develop, test, and commercialize their innovations. We offer technical facilities and expertise to accelerate the growth of the drone industry in India to support the development of skilled manpower in the UAV sector through training programs and academic courses.
